In early September 2016, the Dominica Agricultural Industrial and Development Bank, Ministry of Tourism, Discover Dominica Authority (DDA), Invest Dominica Authority (IDA) and the environmental Health Department collaborated to host a Special Seminar on the new line of credit for Tourism at the AID Bank.
The seminar was held at the Fort Young Hotel, and was successful in sensitising stakeholders within the Hotel and Restaurant sub-sectors about the 3% concessionary loan facility available at the AID Bank for the upgrade and expansion of their properties.
The event was very well attended and over fifty stakeholders were apprised of the processes involved in accessing this facility, the importance of industry standards and environmental health regulations.
The activity was addressed by the Honourable Minister for Tourism and Urban Renewal, Hon. Robert Tonge. He appealed to stakeholders to take advantage of this facility, to enhance their properties and services hereby improving the overall guest’s experience.
Stakeholders took advantage of the opportunity to air their concerns and to seek clarification on key issues.
