Roseau Dominica, Tuesday 3rd March, 2015: Financial Data Systems Limited’s (FDSL), a software development company in which the Dominica Agricultural Industrial and Development Bank (DAIDB/AID Bank) has a managing interest, announces the appointment of former National Employment Programme (NEP) intern Vernelle Sylvester, as Manager of Software Development Implementation and Support Services.
Mrs. Sylvester, a software programmer with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the State University of New York, expressed gratitude for this opportunity.

Mrs. Sylvester a computer programmer intern work collaboratively with the Bank’s Management Information Systems (MIS) Department. In addition to working with the AID Bank FDSL also provides loan management software for development institutions in Dominica, St. Lucia, Jamaica and Belize.
Interns were assigned to the AID Bank (including those placed at FDSL), through the Bank’s partnership with the NEP. For AID Bank’s General Manager, Mr. Julius J. Corbett, the NEP initiative is one that is exceptionally valuable to Dominica.
“This programme contributes to national growth and development as it provides the opportunity for many qualified young Dominican professionals to obtain much needed work experience while contributing their knowledge and skills to local entities,” he stated.
Mr. Corbett commends local employers who have already employed NEP interns and encourages others to do likewise, as he believes that this augers well for the success of this Government initiative.
It is the desired intent of the DAIDB to offer employment to a number of the NEP interns at the end of their trainee attachment to the AID Bank.
