San Sauveur Primary School receives computers from the AID Bank

San Sauveur Primary School receives two used computers from the AID Bank to facilitate their Information Technology (IT) Programme and the “Ask, Listen and Learn” (ALL) Programme.

According to Ms Merlyn Rolle, Principal of the San Sauveur Primary School, “these two programmes are not being conducted as effectively as they should be due to the lack of computers”. The computers will prove to be very useful because basic information technology courses are being taught to pupils from Grade K to Grade 6. The “Ask, Listen and Learn” Programme, which encourages pupils to say “no to alcohol”, was established by the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility in the USA.

The “ALL” programme also involves regular interaction between the pupils in the classroom and their classroom champion mentor via the internet. The classroom champion mentor teaches them how to dream big and to how accomplish their dreams through goal setting.

During the brief handing over ceremony, AID Bank’s General Manager, Mr. Julius J Corbett shared that it is within the bank’s corporate social responsibility policy to support educational programmes and the bank is pleased to make such a meaningful donation to our children.

In receiving these computers from the AID Bank which Ms. Rolle described the event as a timely gesture.  She said “these computers would enhance our abilities, to accommodate all our students in each class, at once in the computer lab, thus augmenting the teaching and learning processes”.

She thanked the AID Bank on behalf of the students, parents and staff of the primary school for this initiative and assured the bank that the computers will be used for administrative purposes and the overall enhance of the teaching experience.
